Fashion has a huge influence in society politically and socially. Through out the decades fashion has evolved and World War II inspired many fashion designers and the 1940's saw a 'new look.'

Christian Dior's 'New Look'
Dior caused an uproar in the 1940's with his 'new look' and excessive use of luxuroius fabric like silk and satin during the rationing period
I am 17 years old and currenlty doing an A-level in Textiles. Fashion has a huge impact in my life and textiles allows me to express my ideas through different medias. Some of my faourite designers inculde Vivienne Westwood, Chanel and Gareth Pugh. I am currently doing a project based on British Fashion through the ages so please feel free to comment on my blog.
